Rio Tinto is offering a role for a young professional Mining Engineer

An excellent opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and highly motivated professional to join the team at the Rabenwald Mine as a Mining Engineer. You will be responsible for mine production planning as well as pit development, ensuring that target tonnage and grade quality is achieved on a short to medium term basis. The successful candidate will exhibit a strong commitment to working safely and a solid cost focus.

In order to be successful in this role you will have:
- Mine planning knowledge/experience (surface, long term and short term).
- Knowledge of process mapping and statistics.
- Knowledge of budgeting of capital & operating expenses.
- A strong commitment to interfacing with operations, maintenance, environmental and quality departments as well as internal and external customers.
- A strong consideration and commitment to the communication of safety aspects.
- Experience/ Knowledge in using mine planning software (Datamine) and Microsoft Office software.
- A Mining Engineering degree

To be considered for the position a candidate must be a team player with good interpersonal skills, demonstrated written and verbal skills (German/ English), and solid technical skills.
Candidates must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office applications.

This role will ideally suit a professional with strong operational focus and a desire to work on a key growth project within our business.
Reporting to the Mine Manger, this role is seen as a key position within the team and will present solid career development for the right candidate.
